Community Recipe Box

Building community & Health through food

Inspired by the little free pantry movement, our Community Recipe Box is designed to build community connections and health through the exchange of food knowledge.

Our Youth Steering Committee is seeking delicious veggie-focused recipes that bring community members joy and health to add to our digital library. The project also intends to celebrate the diversity of food traditions that already exist in our community. Recipes can be shared in-person at our events or our Emerson-Garfield Farmers Market booth or virtually using our online form at the bottom of this page.

As our Community Recipe Box grows, we will highlight recipes using seasonal ingredients on our website, at our farmers market booths, and in our newsletter. Sometimes, all it takes is some inspiration from a recipe to try a new-to-you veggie or rekindle your love for something you have in excess.

Recipes we’re interested in:

Although we will accept any fruit- or veggie-focused recipe that makes you feel happy and healthy, we’re especially interested in recipes in the following categories:

  • Recipes that support specific dietary practices (e.g., halal, kosher, allergy-friendly, vegan, etc.)

  • Budget-friendly recipes

  • Dorm-friendly recipes (think limited counter space and microwaves)

  • Youth-friendly recipes (healthy meals and snacks that are easy for young cooks ages 12-18)

Thank you for supporting our project!
